Sales Manager - London & Nationwide

Sales Manager - London and Nationwide

Application deadline: Sunday 30th March
Reports to: Company Founders
Location: London
Salary: £40-45K depending on experience, with the potential for up to 15% bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE:
At Pretty Decent Beer Co, we have grown revenue by over 30 times since we began eight years ago with a production increase of nearly 6000%. We now operate across four sites and have seen our trade sales increase drastically in the last four years. As well as having a strong customer base across the UK, we export to three countries - with plans to double this in 2025. To support the continued growth in wholesales, we are looking for a Sales Manager to help take us to the next level!

For this new role, we’re looking for someone with experience - someone who can hit the ground running from day one. You’ll need strong sales skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment whilst ensuring that you are committed to representing Pretty Decent and our ethos as a public face of the brand. We’re releasing close to 100 specials in 2025, so you’ll need a customer first approach, understanding that different beers will suit some accounts more than others!

You’ll be part of a small and growing team - one which shares our values and supports each other in helping PD stand out. In addition to 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays), you’ll get a personal development allowance, a pension with NEST, merch, and free beer! You’ll also get the opportunity to represent PDBC at some incredible beer festivals - both in the UK and abroad.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following outlines the roles and responsibilities of the post holder:

  • Manage direct customer relationships to drive return sales and secure permanent taps via best-in-class customer service, engagement and eventsDeliver a sales strategy to support ongoing growth and meet revenue targets

  • Be analytical - using trends and data to inform decisions

  • Bring PD in front of people who perhaps haven’t heard of us before and nurture relationships with existing accounts

  • Work closely with our distribution partners to ensure their needs are met and our beers are successful with their customers

  • Establish yourself as the main point of contact for all accounts, and support PDBC in making strong connections across the industry

  • Attending Meet the Brewer and Tap Takeover events and representing Pretty Decent Beer Co. at Industry Events - supporting PDBC in raising our brand profile

  • Represent the brand and ethos of PDBC - ensuring you are an ambassador for the company at all times

  • Work with the relevant teams at PDBC to ensure that order processing is achieved timely and efficiently across your customer base.

  • Own the management of stock on all sales outlets, and be responsible for sales management on Breww.

  • Develop the role and grow sales with a view to progressing to a Head of Sales position within 18-24 months - onboarding and training new team members as part of our expansion plans for 2026

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have a minimum 3 years experience working within a Brewery sales team

  • Have experience in developing and successfully implementing a sales strategy

  • Be excited about our growing brand and about the beer we are producing - with an ability to translate this excitement into engaging sales conversations.

  • Be someone who can speak confidently and openly about our beer and what we’re trying to do at PDBC, bringing customers into the fold and on the journey with us

  • Be personable and approachable

  • Be agile and able to work in a fast paced environment. Being able to keep on top of the new beers being released and having an understanding of where best these could be sold will be crucial in this role

  • Share Pretty Decent’s values of equality and inclusivity

  • Have good knowledge of the craft beer market including wholesale, key accounts, pubs and bottle shops and export. This is an essential requirement for all candidates.

  • Have an existing, strong network within the drinks and hospitality industry - with experience selling B2B and partnering with distributors

  • Have worked in a target driven sales role, whilst understanding that at PDBC we prioritise relationships in the industry, and not a ‘sales at all costs’ approach

  • A driving license is preferable but not required.

ABOUT PDBC
We brew a range of modern, progressive, and seasonal beers which focus on being sessionable and accessible to all. We have three core beers and release at least one new special per week. Whilst we love hop forward beers and prioritise NEIPAs - and there will always be plenty of those brewed - we love brewing a range of styles and this year we'll be brewing more WCIPAs, Sours, Stouts and Lagers than ever before. As a representative of PDBC you’ll need to be confident in discussing our beer styles and new specials, whilst also maintaining a focus on ensuring that we take an inclusive and mindful approach to people that we’re speaking to about stocking. We pride ourselves on ensuring we don’t push too hard, work in partnership with our trade customers and ultimately take a people first approach.

We firmly believe that beer is for everyone. We focus as a company on being accessible by not taking ourselves too seriously. We aim for our branding to be positive. To raise a small chuckle each time somebody picks up a can. But it is not just about the beer or their names -  it’s about us being open and honest, and communicating what it is that we’re about. You’ll be our voice to the beer community and will need to clearly communicate our values.
